Men’s soccer handles Eureka

GREENVILLE, Ill. — The men's soccer team returned to the win column with a 6-1 victory over Eureka on Saturday night.

Caleb Carpenter and Adam Jones each scored two goals and added an assist.

Carpenter got the match's first goal in the sixth minute, and Brent Lehr posted the eventual match winner approximately one minute later.

Jones gave Greenville a goal in the 13th minute before Eureka came back with its only goal of the match.

In the 19th minute, Jones gave the Panthers his second of the match, and Carpenter's second goal came in the 24th minute. Nick Schumaker scored the final goal of the match in the 43rd minute.

The Panthers utilized their entire roster as everyone played more than 10 minutes.

Greenville took 21 shots, including 12 on goal.

The Panthers (7-8, 2-3 SLIAC) head to Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday.
