Blackburn Men's Soccer honors Alex Escamilla

Blackburn Men's Soccer was defeated by Spalding University 4-1 on Saturday November 2, 2019 in Carlinville Illinois.

The Beavers honored lone Senior Alex Escamilla as it was his last game in a Blackburn jersey. Escamilla transferred from Wisconsin in the fall 2017. He has participated in 47 matches and has started 38 matches. Escamilla is credited with four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points.

At half the game was tied 1-1. Blackburn started the scoring with a header from junior forward Jordan Leihser, which was assisted by Junior Defender Nick Russell. The Golden Eagles tied the game in the 40th minute with a goal from Ryan Henry.

The Beavers were outshot 15-3 in the second period, which led to three goals for the Golden Eagles. All three of those goals were scored by Kornell Hilliard.

Blackburn was much improved this year as they increased their win total by two. The Beavers also improved on their goal total by tallying 21 goals compared to four last year. Blackburn hopes to improve on these numbers next year, with returning a talented young core and only losing one senior.
