MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - The women's basketball team extended their winning streak to two with a 74-55 win over Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday night. With the win, the Panthers moved one game closer to clinching a SLIAC tournament berth with three games remaining.
The Panthers opened with a 15-11 advantage after the first quarter and led 33-18 at halftime. In the third quarter, each team scored 21 points, and Greenville distanced themselves from the Tigers further with a 20-16 final period.
Madelyn Stephen ended as Greenville's top scorer with 17 points in a season-high 29 minutes of action. Haven Robertson was right behind Stephen with 16 points, and Emily Reinneck had 13 points.
The Panthers dominated Iowa Wesleyan in rebounding, holding a 40-19 advantage. Ashley Anderson was active on the boards with nine rebounds.
Point guards Brittany Lopez and Lauren Eagleson each gave Greenville five assists.
The Panthers (13-9, 10-5 SLIAC) host Principia on Saturday in H.J. Long Gymnasium. Tip off is scheduled for 1 p.m., and senior day activities will begin at approximately 12:45 p.m.
