GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team defeated Trinity Christian 71-63 on Saturday afternoon to claim the NCCAA North Central championship for the second straight year and advance to the NCCAA national championships.
Greenville trailed 19-15 after the first quarter but used a 19-6 second period run to take a 34-25 advantage to halftime.
Trinity Christian made it a one point game after three quarters at 45-44, but Greenville held off their rally and outscored Trinity Christian 26-19 in the final quarter.
Meredith Crosier showed up when the Panthers needed her the most as she tallied a season-high 24 points in the game and a team-high nine rebounds.
Teammate Maria Reinhard dropped in 17 points and passed out four assists.
The Panthers (21-6) will play at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind., on Wednesday, March 14.
