Women's basketball wins at Principia

ELSAH, Ill. - The women's basketball team gained a 77-33 win over Principia on Tuesday night, outscoring the Panthers each quarter in the rout.

Madelyn Stephen came off the bench to post a team-high 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting from field and a 1-of-2 mark behind the three-point line.

Megan Barrett and Brittany Lopez each ended with 12 points.

Greenville led 19-12 after the first quarter and extended the lead to 42-17 at halftime. After three quarters, Greenville held a 58-27 lead before going on a 19-6 run to finish the game.

Overall, GU made 42.3 percent of its field goal attempts (30-of-71), 29.6 percent of its three-pointers (8-of-27), and 75 percent of its free throws (9-of-12).

The Panthers came up with 16 steals, led by Stephen with four.

Greenville (7-6, 4-2 SLIAC) trails Spalding and Webster by one game in the conference standings, and the Panthers return to action on Saturday against Blackburn at 1 p.m.
