How It Happened
In the first half, after Elijah Rice made his jumper to put Fontbonne down 7-4, the Bears went on a 6-0 run before Domonic Doolin ended the rally at the 11:45 mark with his layup.
From there, the Bears put distance between themselves and Fontbonne going on a 17-0 run over the next five minutes and 44 seconds to take the 30-6 lead. They held onto that double-digit advantage the rest of the way leading 40-15 at the break.
WashU shot 62.5 percent from the floor in the first half, while the Griffins struggled to find its rhythm going 7-of-27 (25.9 percent) from the field.
In the second half, the Griffins upped its field goal percentage to 35.3 percent, though the Bears stayed hot from the floor going 19-of-32 (59.4 percent) and outrebounded Fontbonne 24-10 in the second frame en route to the 42-point win.

- The Griffins were held to season-low marks in field goals made (19) field goal percentage (31.1), free throws made (two), free throws attempted (six), and rebounds (23).
- WashU ended with a 60.7 field goal percentage and connected on 50.0 percent of its 3-pointers.

- Rice and Jalen Wadlington tied with seven points each. Wadlington also pulled down seven rebounds, six of which came on the offensive side of the glass.
