Game Breakdown
The Griffins brought the pressure early with Molly Kovarik having a great scoring chance in the ninth minute but Taryn Banfield was there to make the diving stop.
Fontbonne dominated the first half with a 9-2 shot advantage and had 12 corner kicks, though the Griffins were unable to break the 0-0 game at the break.
In the second half, the Griffins were awarded a corner kick in the 47th minute. Krystal Kohenskey's cross found Rylee Stafford and she headed it in for her second goal on the season giving Fontbonne a 1-0 lead.
It remained a 1-0 lead for Fontbonne up until the 72nd minute when Kovarik had the ball on the near side of the field. She dribbled and cut towards the net scoring past Banfield for her 23rd on the season to put the Griffins well out in front, 2-0.
The Griffins continued dominating as the clock ticked away and added another goal in the 89th minute when Kovarik's cross was placed perfectly onto the foot of Kierstyn Weaver who scored her fourth on the season making it a 3-0 championship final.

- It's the sixth shutout in the last seven games for the Griffins.
- Kovarik's goal was her 59th in career and 131 points. She's two points away from becoming the all-time leader at Fontbonne.

- Stafford's goal ties her career-high and she's up to five in career.
- Weaver's goal was No. 22 in her career.
- Mary Beers made one save for her career-high 10th shutout.
