ELSAH, Ill. – The Eureka women's soccer was unable to extend its winning streak at Principia on Saturday.
The Panthers shut out the Red Devils for the first time this season, winning 3-0 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.
Adriana Rucks gave Principia an early leading, putting away an unassisted goal in the 15th minute.
Viviane DeCastro finished a penalty kick in the 29th to make it 2-0 and Georgia Rather scored in the 56th.
Eureka goalkeeper Abby Swope (Canton, Ill./Canton) tallied 12 saves in goal. On the other end of the pitch, Lindsey Johnston (Evansville, Ind./Harrison) and Christine Mepham (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) each got a shot off for the team's only shots of the day.
On Tuesday at 5 p.m., the Red Devils (2-3, 1-1 SLIAC) will host Greenville (2-3, 2-0) at McKinzie Field to continue SLIAC play.
