The Millikin University women’s basketball team defeated Blackburn College 78-50 in the second day of the Harriet Crannell Holiday Classic.
The Big Blue got another strong performance from All-American Lindsay Ippel who scored 17 points. Senior guard Kelley Steers added 13 points. Freshman Elise Wildman came off the Millikin bench to contribute 10 points. Ricki Dorsett and Megan Mateer each had nine points for Millikin.
The Big Blue were in control for most of the game, which allowed Coach Lori Kerans to go to her bench with 10 Millikin players scoring in the game.
Blackburn’s top scorer was Lauren Woelfel with 13 points.
The Big Blue head to Florida for the Cruzin’ Classic. They will take on Mt. Union on Tuesday, December 17 and play Lakeland on Wednesday, December 18.
Millikin improves to 6-3 on the year while Blackburn drops to 1-5.
