Women's soccer breezes through Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. - The women's soccer team faced a short-handed Eureka team on Saturday and defeated the Red Devils 13-0 in a match shortened to 70 minutes.

The Panthers received 10 goals in the first 45 minutes of the match and three in the second period.

Four players posted a multi-goal match for GU.  Suzi Conner scored the first two goals for Greenville, and Kat Stroot delivered a hat trick.  Brooklyn Haro and Jade Taylor also picked up a pair of goals.

Dani Pearce, Ellie Cummins, Kate Arthur, and Courtney Lawrence provided single goals for Greenville.

Taylor added assists on four goals, and Breanna Thomas notched a pair of assists.

Goalkeeper Marjory Coates was untested in the shutout.

The Panthers (13-5-1, 6-2-1 SLIAC) will enter the SLIAC tournament as the No. 4 seed, and they will play Webster on Wednesday in St. Louis.
