ST. LOUIS - Westminster volleyball falls to Webster 3-1 for just its second SLIAC loss of the season.

The Blue Jays are now 13-7 overall and 9-2 in the conference. Webster improves to 15-7 overall and 11-3 in the SLIAC.

"Tonight we had flashes of great play and at times we played flat," said Westminster Head Coach Curtis Madson. "We need to get back to putting together a full match."

The Gorlocks set the tone early by taking the first set 25-18, which would be the largest margin of victory for either team in the four-set match.

Westminster was able to even the score with a 25-22 win in the second match, but was unable to hold on to that momentum moving forward. They gave the Gorlocks a battle in the last two matches but eventually dropped each 26-24.

Hannah Marshall had a dominating performance, recording 22 kills which led both teams. Kayla Reeg also capitalized, adding 35 assists which was 13 more than the next best performance.

Bridget Ringwald led either team in digs with 24.

"We are still learning how to play with a target on our back," said Madson. "Teams are coming out and giving us their best shot and we have to be ready to match it."

Westminster remains on the road with a nonconference match against Coe Thursday at 7 p.m.
