Baseball winning streak hits 10

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team won its 10th consecutive game with a 14-5 victory at MacMurray on Thursday.

Greenville opened the game with two first inning runs.  Travis Ralls hit an RBI single and Mike Hardin had an RBI double.

MacMurray evened the score at 2-2 in their at bat in the first inning.

Greenville posted four runs in the top of the second inning and never again trailed.

In the second inning, Danny Strohm came up with an RBI double, a run scored on an error, Ralls had a sacrifice fly, and Klaiton Wolff walked with the bases loaded.

MacMurray added a single run in the second, third, and fourth innings.

In the top of the sixth, the Panthers scored six runs.  Strohm tallied an RBI single, Getz hit a two-run single, and Ralls delivered a three run home run.

The Panthers picked up two runs in the top of the ninth with RBI singles from Getz and Shane Olmsted.

Reliever Logan Murphy evened his record at 3-3 with a scoreless fifth inning after Greenville had taken a 12-6 lead.

Austin Marsh started on the mound and pitched four innings, allowing five runs, four earned, on nine hits.

Greenville (23-12, 13-4 SLIAC) travel to Iowa Wesleyan for a doubleheader on Saturday.
