Women's volleyball set back by Webster

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- In a thrilling match characteristic of teams at the top of the SLIAC standings, the women's volleyball team led two sets to one but couldn't close it out in a 24-26, 25-21, 25-27, 25-23, 15-13 win by Webster.

Greenville's Allyson Mitchell produced match highs in kills and digs with 21 kills and 18 digs in the effort.

Middle hitter Sierah Ruffner played well, gathering 15 kills and seven block assists as she caused problems at the net for Webster.

Kirsten Laune directed the offense all night as she piled up 56 assists.

Janisha Pealer recorded the start at libero and contributed five service aces and 17 digs on the eventing.

Webster outhit Greenville .228-.197 to take the win.

The Lady Panthers (11-4, 7-2 SLIAC) host Stephens on Saturday at 4 p.m.
