ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's soccer team did much more than "spook" Webster in their Halloween night SLIAC semifinal.  Rather, the women brought Webster's season ending fears to life with a 2-1 overtime victory to gain a position in the SLIAC championship match on Friday night.

The Panthers received the game winning goal from Jade Taylor in the 94th minute of the match to bring a 31-match regular season and postseason SLIAC winning streak for Webster to a close and take GU to their first SLIAC championship match since 2012.  The goal was Taylor's third after a season filled with injury.

Greenville opened the scoring in the 41st minute of match when Megan Taylor headed a corner kick from Dani Pearce into the net for her third goal of the season.

The score stayed 1-0 in Greenville's favor until the 85th minute of the match saw the Gorloks tie it at 1-1.

Webster held the shot advantage in the match 18-13 as GU was outshot 6-5 in the first half and 11-7 in the second half.  Both teams had a shot in overtime.

Breanna Thomas led Greenville with five shots including three on goal.

Goalkeeper Marjory Coates faced six shots and collected five saves.

"Obviously the win is huge," said head coach Jeff Wardlaw.  "But even more important than that is that we legitimately played with them, and I'm super proud of the girls for that.  I have a lot of respect for what they've created at Webster."

The Panthers (14-5-1) will play at Westminster on Friday night in the championship match.  Westminster advanced 3-2 in penalty kicks after tying Fontbonne 1-1 in the other semifinal.
