Red Devils Come Up Short at Lincoln Christian

LINCOLN, Ill. -- The Eureka College volleyball team saw its two-match win streak come to an end Thursday night at Lincoln Christian, losing by a score of 25-22, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22 at the Laughlin Center in Lincoln, Ill.

Anna Crank (Washburn, Ill./Midland H.S./Clarke) led all players with 17 kills and Lexi Dooley (Sutter, Ill./Warsaw H.S.) also reached double figures with 11 kills. Heather Robinson (Peoria, Ill./Limestone H.S.) and Sara Worrell (Jacksonville, Ill./Routt Catholic H.S.) each distributed 17 assists. Robinson tacked on 13 digs for a double-double. Crank also compiled a double-double with 12 digs.

Eureka put down 41 kills Thursday on the strength of a .153 hitting percentage. The Red Devils also continued their strong defensive effort up front, compiling 12.0 total blocks behind six total blocks apiece from Crank and McKenzie Reiners (Milford, Ill./Milford H.S.).

The Red Devils will look to return to the win column next Tuesday against St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference leader Webster at Christine Bonati Bollwinkle Arena at 6 p.m.
