Women's soccer continues perfect opening to SLIAC schedule with 4-0 win at Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. - The women's soccer team did not have a difficult time with Eureka on Tuesday afternoon, collecting a 4-0 win behind three first half goals.

With a shot advantage of 28-3, Greenville controlled the match from the outset.

The Panthers scored early, gaining a goal in the second minute from Maddie Missey. Missey added a second goal early in the second half to bookend Greenville's scoring.

In the 18th minute, Molly McDonnell collected a goal, and Athena Hagerman posted a goal in the 36th minute to make the score 3-0 at halftime.

Kiera Coleman led Greenville in shots with five in the match, including four shots on target.

Vanessa Ramirez also produced four shots, all on target.

Emma Cadwell tallied two assists, both coming on Missey's goals.

Goalkeepers Grace Gehner and Carly Wagner shared the shutout. Gehner started the match and only faced one shot, which was not on frame. Wagner entered the match at halftime and stopped two shots for saves.

The Panthers (3-3, 3-0 SLIAC) will aim to keep their perfect conference record going on Saturday with a match at Blackburn.
