Men's basketball runs away from Iowa Wesleyan

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's basketball kept their perfect SLIAC record alive with a highlight-filled 150-109 win over Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday night.

Greenville cruised after Isiah Price's three-pointer gave GU a 13-12 lead nearly four minutes into the game.  The Panthers eventually took a 29 point lead to halftime with a 83-54 advantage after the opening 20 minutes.

The Panther lead reached 43 points at 142-99 with 3:26 to play in the game.

Eric Williams and Johari Dix were members of the second shift of the night and managed to score 64 points between them.  Williams posted 36 points after making 15-of-29 field goal attempts, including one three pointer, and a 5-of-7 mark at the free throw line.  Dix tallied 28 points on 11-of-19 field goal attempts, four three-pointers, and a perfect 2-of-2 free throw effort.

Williams managed to provide a team-high 10 rebounds to end with double-double.  Dix contributed a team-high six assists.

Greenville's pressure resulted in 48 IWU turnovers and 29 steals from the Panthers.  Anthony Zataray collected six steals in just five minutes of action to lead the team.

The Panthers (10-4, 7-0 SLIAC) are on an eight game winning streak, and they head to Westminster on Saturday for a game at 3 p.m.
