GREENVILLE, Ill. - Andrea Zalis scored a game-high 24 points in the Blue Jay loss to SLIAC opponent Greenville.

Westminster falls to 2-6 overall and 1-1 in the SLIAC. Greenville improves to 4-2 and 1-1 in the conference. 

"We started flat tonight," said Westminster Head Coach Tracey Braden. "Greenville is a good team and they have good depth."

The Blue Jays took an early 6-4 lead, but Greenville quickly regained a lead with a 15-0 run in the first quarter.

Zalis hit two shots in a row to open up the second quarter to get back within 10 points of the Panthers. She ended the quarter with five straight points to pull the Blue Jays back within single digits going into the half, down 37-28. 

The Panthers pulled ahead by 21 with under a minute remaining in the third quarter, the biggest lead of the game for Greenville. 

Westminster pulled off its best offensive quarter in the fourth, scoring 20 points, including five from Mirrakohl Johnson. 

After Zalis' 24, Brooke Stauffer added 10 points of her own. Johnson recorded 10 rebounds. 

"I should have done a better job preparing the team," said Braden. "I loved our energy and our focus with the press in the fourth quarter."

Westminster continues its conference season at home Saturday, December 10 at 1 p.m. against Webster.
