Men's soccer blanks MacMurray

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's soccer team moved to 6-5 as they opened SLIAC competition with a 5-0 win over MacMurray on Saturday.

Greenville's Adam Jones posted two goals and three assists as he was involved in all five goals.

Jones scored the game winner in the 17th minute as he gave Greenville the first of three in the first half.

Edgar Bueno collected a goal in the 26th minute, and Jones made the score 3-0 at the half with his third goal of the season.

The second half saw Sam Ortiz net his first goal, and Nick Schumaker closed the scoring.

Goalkeeper Jesus Hernandez produced four saves in his first shutout.

The Panthers (6-5, 1-0 SLIAC) go to Westminster on Wednesday for a match at 5 p.m.
