Women's volleyball eases to win over MacMurray

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team gained a brisk 69 minute win against MacMurray on Thursday in their final home match of the 2017 season.  The Panthers won 25-21, 25-15, 25-12 as they wore down the MacMurray unit after a challenging first set.

Anna Finch dominated at the net as she totaled 12 kills and one error in 19 attempts for a hitting percentage of .579.

Allyson Mitchell played her last match in H.J. Long Gymnasium and ended with a double-double of 11 kills and 12 digs.

Brittni Bell totaled 10 kills and two block assists.

Alex Falcone directed the offensive attack by piling up 33 assists.

Whitney Nichols moved into the libero position for Greenville and posted 11 digs.

The first set featured seven tie scores and three lead changes as Greenville had to come from behind.  The Panthers never trailed in the final two sets.

The event was a Hurricane Relief Night with proceeds designated for the ravaged US territory of Puerto Rico.

The Panthers (22-4, 15-3 SLIAC) will travel to Lisle, Ill., where they will face MSOE and Dominican on Friday at Benedictine.
