Blue Jays' Victory Propels Them into 3rd Place Match

In their opening match of the 2018 SLIAC Tournament, the Blue Jays' Men's Tennis Team prevailed over the Fontbonne Griffins by a score of 5-1.

Westminster started the day off hot by winning all three of the doubles matches. The duos of Adam Fuchs/Pete Hassenmueller, Phillip Udinyiwe/Joshua Udinyiwe, and Nick Lakowski/Giovanni Stricklan all overcame their opponents by final scores of 8-6, 8-4, and 8-1, respectively.

Singles were more of the same, with Nick Lakowski and Joshua Udinyiwe bringing home the wins from the only two singles matches that were completed on the day.

Following the victory against Fontbonne, Westminster faced the top-seeded Principia Panthers, where they ultimately fell 5-0.

After the first day of tournament play, Westminster will be moving on to the 3rd Place Match on Saturday, April 21st. They're set to play the Webster Gorlocks, beginning at 11:00am.
