JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Eureka baseball team dropped a 12-2 contest to Westminster in its first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game of the 2020 season at Lenz Field on Saturday.

After a scoreless first frame, Westminster posted four runs on four hits and one error, and proceeded to score at least one run in every inning the rest of the way.

Trailing 6-0, the Red Devils finally got the board in the bottom of the fourth inning after Dean Moir (Coal City, Ill./Coal City) drove in a run with the bases loaded on a fielder's choice.

EC loaded the bases again in the fifth and got a runner to scoring position in the sixth, but the came up empty on both occasions.

In the seventh, the Red Devils plated another run on a SAC fly RBI by Kyle Christman (Peru, Ill./La Salle-Peru).

Christman went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Braxten Ary (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) delivered EC's lone extra-base hit, lifting a double to center field to put a runner on third before Christman's sac fly.
