Westminster Softball Falls in SLIAC Championship

ST. ANN, Mo. -Westminster softball ends their postseason run with a loss to Greenville in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.

The Blue Jays end the 2018 season 22-18.

"It was a great game today," said Westminster Head Coach Joe Henderson. "We just could not get a key hit with a chance to win at the end."

The Panthers got on the board first in the first inning on a double to score two runs.

Westminster answered in the third inning on a single from Madison Washington to score Emily Holloway

The Panthers added a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings to go up 4-1.

The Blue Jays rallied in the sixth, scoring a run on a single from Aubrie Vaughn to score Angela Vanderpluym, but it wasn't enough to catch the Panthers.

Katie Price took the loss to end the season 14-9. She pitched all seven innings, giving up four runs on 13 hits.

"This was a great season being conference champs for the second year in a row," said Henderson. "We have a great future with a young talented team and great recruits on the way next year. I'm so proud of this team!"
