Westminster Baseball Sweeps Principia

ELSAH, Ill. - Westminster baseball earned a sweep over Principia in a two-game series Saturday.

Westminster improves to 11-6 overall and 6-3 in the SLIAC. 

Alex Dickneite started on the mound for the Blue Jays in game one, earning the win after pitching five innings and giving up six runs, two earned, on seven hits.

After giving up six runs, including a grand slam, in the first inning, Westminster got on the board in the fourth by scoring seven runs, including two RBI from Nick Bohlmann and Nick Cessna.

The Blue Jays added to their lead with six more runs in the fifth, including a two-run home run from Wyatt Ahart and two RBI from Tanner Branneky

In game two, Sam Huesgen took the mount and pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits. 

Branneky led the way offensively with two home runs in the game for four RBI. 

The Blue Jays go on to face Fontbonne Friday in St. Louis before returning home to finish the three-game series with the Griffins Saturday.
