ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's basketball team picked up a valuable non-conference win in the McWilliams Classic at WashU on Saturday night, taking a 64-51 victory over Hendrix to end the tournament with a record of 1-1.

Hendrix held a 15-10 lead after the first quarter, but the Panthers outscored the Warriors 20-10 in the second quarter to hold a 30-25 advantage at halftime.

Greenville ended the third quarter with a 44-36 lead, and they outscored Hendrix 20-15 in the final period to establish the 13-point margin of victory.

Hendrix led by as many as seven, reaching that mark in the first and second quarters, and Greenville had a 20 point lead with 6:37 remaining in the game.

Facing a 19-12 deficit with 8:08 to play in the second quarter, the Panthers received a three-pointer from Hannah Krukewitt and a layup by Madelyn Stephen to cut the deficit to two points.

Greenville tied the game at 25-all with a jumper by Stephen during a 9-0 run to end the half that saw GU take the lead.

Krukewitt, a member of the McWilliams Classic all-tournament team, led the Panthers with a 19 point outing, making 7-of-14 field goal attempts, 2-of-4 three-pointers, and 3-of-3 free throws. She produced 28 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and two steals over the two-day tournament.

No other Panther surpassed the 10 point mark in Saturday's win. Stephen posted eight points for GU.

Ashley Anderson managed to top Greenville in rebounds with seven on Saturday, and Megan Barrett had the team-high with four assists.

Barrett and Clarissa Duebel were tops in the steals category with three each.

The Panthers (4-4) will play Webster on Monday night at 7 p.m. in Greenville's H.J. Long Gymnasium in their second SLIAC game of the season. Generally, the women's basketball conference games are played on the same date as men's games, but due to the insertion of the McWilliams Classic on Greenville's season schedule, the December 9 date was identified as their date to face Webster.
