Softball knocked off by Washington-St. Louis

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The softball team faced Washington-St. Louis at home on Thursday and lost 11-3 and 11-4 to the Bears in both ends of the doubleheader.

Pitcher Kendall Farr went the distance in game one, completing the game with seven innings pitched in the circle.  She gave up all 11 runs, but only six were earned.

Farr and Kate Jolliff Rosado each recorded two hits, and Rosado homered.

Game two saw a tight 3-2 game through four innings, but a five run outburst by the Bears in the top of the fifth did in the Panthers.

Cayla Speaks was the losing pitcher.  She went 4.2 innings and allowed eight runs, six earned.  Maegan Stone ended the game in the circle with 2.2 innings of relief.

Becca Oldham launched a sixth inning home run for Greenville.

The Panthers (8-15) host Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday at 5 p.m. in a SLIAC doubleheader.
