Women's basketball headed to SLIAC tournament with win

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team became the second SLIAC team to clinch a position in the conference tournament with an 85-57 win over Iowa Wesleyan in a game they never trailed.  Greenville's lead reached 38 points in the fourth quarter.

Taylor Paulin was the Lady Panthers' leading scorer with 16 points on five baskets, four of which were three-pointers, and two free throws.

Five other Lady Panthers joined Paulin with 10 or more points.  Claire Schmitt dropped in 13 points, and Emily Brandland had a career-high 11 points in limited action.

Elainna Davis and Morgan St. James added 10 points apiece.  Davis passed out five assists.

Greenville's leading rebounders were Paulin and Wesley Woodard each with five.  Paulin and St. James added four steals.

The Lady Panthers (15-8, 10-4 SLIAC) travel to Eureka on Saturday and are currently slotted as the second-seeded team in the SLIAC tournament.
