Women's soccer dominates Blackburn in 12-0 win

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team rolled to a 12-0 shutout win over Blackburn on Saturday afternoon, their fourth straight win and fourth consecutive shutout.

The Panthers dominated the match from start to finish, piling up eight goals in the first half and four in the second.

Greenville set the tone early with three goals in the first six minutes.

Greenville collected 25 shots in the match with 20 on target.

Kiera Coleman led GU with five shots, including four on goal. Samantha De La Cruz had three shots, all on target, and Jen De Leon De Leon also had three shots.

Nina Torvisca was Greenville's leading scorer in the match with two goals and one assist.

Coleman produced a goal and two assists, and Molly McDonnell and Alexis Roberts each had a goal and assist.

Other Panther goals were scored by De La Cruz, Sophie Laughlin, Emma Cadwell, Athena Hagerman, Meggie Pallme, Vanessa Ramirez, and Martina Garces.

Grace Gehner started as Greenville's goalkeeper and yielded the net to Abigail Alvord in the second half. Alford faced two shots and had two saves.

The Panthers (4-3, 4-0 SLIAC) host Principia on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in Greenville at Francis Field.
