FENTON, Mo. - The women's soccer team gave up a late goal and fell 1-0 to Webster in the championship match of the SLIAC tournament.
Webster scored a goal in the 86th minute for the win.
The Gorloks pressured Greenville all afternoon, taking 21 shots in the match with 11 on goal. Goalkeeper Marjory Coates, a member of the All-Tournament team, recorded 10 saves in the match.
Ellie Cummins ended with four of Greenville's 11 shots.
After the match, the Panthers were recognized as conference regular season co-champions and coach Jeff Wardlaw received his second coach of the year award.
Cummins was selected to the first team.
Jen De Leon De Leon received a second team award, and she was chosen as the SLIAC newcomer of the year, the fourth time in the last five years that GU has had a player so honored.
Kate Arthur and Kat Stroot were also chosen to the second team, and Arthur was picked as Greenville's All-Sportsmanship team entry.
The third team included Breanna Thomas and Coates.
Additionally, Megan Taylor, Thomas, and Coates were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Panthers finished their season with a record of 11-7-2 and a regular season championship in the SLIAC.
