Blue Jays Slip To Missouri Valley

The Westminster men's tennis team slipped to Missouri Valley at home on Thursday evening, 9-0. 

The teams made it through doubles play, despite the rain interupting play. Missouri Valley swept the Blue Jays in doubles, winning with scores of 8-2 (No. 1), 8-5 (No. 2) and 8-4 (No. 3). 

In singles competition, sophomore Scott Strough went to a tiebreaker with Missour Valley in the number four spot, trying to find a win. He won the first set, 6-3, before losing the second, 6-3. Strough lost the tiebreaker, 14-12. Junior Kyle Collins also tested Missouri Valley in the number three spot, but lost with scores of 6-1 and 7-5. 

The Blue Jays will have a chance to turn their season around tomorrow, April 10, with a home conference match versus Fontbonne at 7:00 p.m.
