Women's basketball tripped up Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team suffered a 80-60 loss against Illinois College in the second game of IC's season opening tournament. Emily Brandland scored 14 points off the bench to lead the Panther scoring efforts.

The Panthers fell behind in the opening quarter 27-15, and the Lady Blues held a 45-26 advantage at halftime.

The Panthers were outscored 18-16 in the third quarter as they faced a 21 point deficit heading into the final period. In the fourth quarter, Greenville outscored Illinois College 18-17.

Lauren Eagleson, who was one of Greenville's two selections on the all-tournament team, had 11 points and four steals as she helped GU off the bench. On Friday, Eagleson had 12 assists in Greenville's win.

Ellaina Davis was Greenville's top rebounder with five caroms.

Wesley Woodard joined Eagleson as an all-tournament recipient but was held to just eight points in Saturday's game. She averaged 14 points and three rebounds in the two games, including a 20 point outing on Friday.

The Panthers (1-1) host Lincoln Christian on Monday, Nov. 26 in their home opener.
