GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team won their second consecutive St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament championship on Saturday with a brisk three set victory over Westminster.

Greenville topped the Blue Jays 25-17, 25-19, 25-16 in just 64 minutes.

The Lady Panthers were benefited as they waited for over two hours while Westminster and Spalding battled through five sets in the second semifinal.  Greenville got to the championship with a four set win over Webster in the day's first match.

SLIAC tournament most valuable player Kirsten Laune gave Greenville 28 assists and 11 digs in gaining the event's top honor.

Fellow all-tournament member Janisha Pealer collected 19 digs, and Sierah Ruffner solidified her all-tournament position with a 12 kill, zero error performance.

Brittni Bell and Ruffner each posted one solo block and three block assists.

Savannah Sells added four block assists.

The Lady Panthers (25-7) previously won the SLIAC tourney in 2010 and 2015.

They become the second team in college history and first women's team to appear in two consecutive NCAA national tournaments.  The men's soccer team is the only other program to make multiple appearances in the NCAA national tournament as they went in 2008, 2010, and 2011.

The team will gather on Monday morning for the NCAA Selection Show at 11:30 a.m. CT.
