Women's Volleyball Drops Non-Conference Outing Against Maryville
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Fontbonne University women’s volleyball team jumped out of conference play on Thursday taking on NCAA Division II Maryville University and it was the Saints coming away with the straight set win.

The Basics
Set 1: Maryville opened with a 16-9 lead on a service ace from Taylor Kehoe. From there, the Saints were in control winning 25-15.
Set 2: It was point-for-point action in the second with the Griffins leading 15-14 on a Saints attack error. Maryville regained the lead and expanded it out to 21-18, however, the Griffins answered with a 3-0 run capped off by Kristen Kaempfe's kill to tie it up.
The Saints, though closed out the set on a 4-0 run en route to the 25-21 victory.
Set 3: In the third, the Saints started to put some distance between themselves and Fontbonne leading 18-11 on Taylor Keck's kill. Out of a timeout, the Griffins started to chip away at the deficit and got it down to 23-19 on a Maryville ball handling error.
Maryville was able to collect the final two points on a service error and then a service ace from Abbie Schnell for the 25-19 match win.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Fontbonne finished with 31 kills and a .068 hitting percentage.
- Kaempfe collected her second career double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.
- Jadyn Fitzgerald added nine kills and 13 digs.
- Ella Werner-Click totaled 28 assists and six digs.
- Emma Pramik tied Fitzgerald with 13 digs.

The Griffins now begin a three-game road trip in three days next week and it starts with Westminster on Monday. First-service at 7 p.m.
