Mount St. Pleasant, Iowa - Westminster men's soccer rises victorious over Iowa Wesleyan with a 6-1 rout of the Tigers, helped by a Daniel Barone hat trick.

Westminster improves to 5-9-1 on the year and 4-3 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The Tigers notched the first goal of the game, but after the Phillip Udinyiwe and Daniel Barone penalty kicks in the 24th minute, it was all Blue Jays.

"We had a lot of guys out with injuries in a must-win game, and I thought the guys played really well," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "The effort, tenacity to get forward, and finishing was great tonight. We are looking to bring this same intensity forward."

After going up 2-0 on PKs, Patrick Wisnewski added another goal just minutes later to make the score 3-1 going into the half.

The second half was again dominated by Westminster. Daniel Barone added his final two goals in the 54th and 74 minutes to shut the Tigers down and go up 5-1.

The final Blue Jay goal was scored by Brandon Rettke on another penalty kick for Westminster.

The Blue Jays dominated the game offensively, tallying 15 shots to the Tigers three.

Connor Bandre played all 90 minutes in goal for Westminster, facing just one shot on goal thanks to the strong Blue Jay defense.

The Blue Jays stay on the road for a conference matchup Tuesday against Principia.
