DECATUR, Ill. -- The baseball team split a doubleheader with Millikin on Friday.  The Panthers lost game one 5-0 before winning game two 7-5.  Both games went seven innings.

Adam Lamb provided a complete game effort in game one for the Panthers.  He held Millikin to five runs, three earned, in six innings.  Three of the runs he allowed came on solo home runs.

The Panthers only produced three hits in game one.  Jesse Getz, Travis Ralls, and Sam Hodges each had one base hit.

Head coach Lynn Carlson experimented with a different lineup in game two which saw several reserve players earning the start.

Greenville scored a run in the opening inning, but they gave up three in the bottom of the first to trail 3-1 after one.

In the second inning, the Panthers took a 5-3 lead with four runs.  Joe Wood had an RBI single, Isaac Whitten hit a two-run triple, and C.J. Falls had an RBI double.

Millikin tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, but Getz delivered a two-run homer in the top of the sixth to give the Panthers the win.

Senior Austin Marsh pitched the complete game for the Panthers.  He went all seven innings, allowing five runs, four earned.  He improved to 1-2 with the win.

Getz, Hodges, Wood, and Whitten all went 2-for-4 at the plate for Greenville.

The Panthers (18-18) will travel to St. Louis to play a doubleheader against Fontbonne at 1 p.m. on Saturday.  If the Panthers win both games, they will qualify for the SLIAC tournament in Greenville on Thursday, May 10.
