Taylor Commesso launched her first home run of the season as Nichols College defeated Blackburn and Knox Wednesday morning in non-conference softball action at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic at North Collier Regional Park.

Erin Kelley each had an RBI single while junior
Callie Andrews picked up two hits for the Bison. Meehan finished the contest with two hits and two runs while sophomore
Alexis Ferris went the distance in the circle, allowing six hits and three runs with seven strikeouts to even her record at 2-2.
Nichols 6, Knox 2
Commesso finished the contest 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored, highlighted by a three-run blast over the centerfield wall in the fourth inning. Meehan also recorded three hits – one of which was an RBI single in the first – and both sophomore
Taylor McIntosh and
Carlee Tolley plated runs on bunt singles in the sixth. That was all the support freshman starter
Shannon Morin needed as she allowed six hits and two runs over seven for her second collegiate win. She walked five and struck out six.
