GREENVILLE, Ill. - Despite a 60-point second half, the Blue Jays came up short 117-98 against Greenville.

Westminster falls to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while Greenville improves to 1-1 in the SLIAC. 

"We played very poorly in the first half," said Westminster Head Coach Matt Mitchell. "Greenville is very difficult to prepare for and we lost our composure in the first half." 

The Blue Jays held their own in a back-and-forth battle for the first ten minutes of the half before the Panthers slowly started to pull away, ending the half with the biggest lead of the game at 63-38. 

"Greenville made a lot of 3's early and we overreacted to them," said Mitchell. "We got spread out on defense and gave up too many easy drives."

Westminster came out in the second half looking to get back into the game offensively, scoring 60 points in the last 20 minutes. They jumped out to a 7-0 run to start the half. 

Despite the strong second half, Westminster fell 117-98 to the Panthers. 

"Our decision-making against their press was poor early but got better as the game progressed," said Mitchell. "Stu Hollandsworth, Zach Nelson, and Carter Wands played well throughout the game." 

Hollandsworth led the team off the bench with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Nelson added 16 points and eight rebounds of his own. 

Four of five Westminster starters found themselves in double-figure points, including Carter Wands and Jimmy Villalobos with 12 apiece, Romo Tabb with 11, and Sean O'Brien with 10. 

Westminster continues SLIAC play Saturday, December 10 at 3 p.m. with a home matchup against Webster.
