How It Happened
In the first half, the Panthers owned a 20-13 lead at the 10:54 mark on Nathan Brantingham's made free throws. Over the next four minutes and 25 seconds the Griffins went on an 8-0 run with Jared Woodcock's made jumper giving them a 21-20 advantage.
Principia went on to regain the lead and hold it up until 2:35 when Jalen Wadlington made his jump shot to give Fontbonne the lead back, 27-25. The Griffins never relinquished its advantage the rest of the way and went into the locker room ahead, 31-30.
Fontbonne shot 39.4 percent from the field in the first and outrebounded the Panthers, 22-18. Elijah Rice totaled 11 points in 11 minutes of action on 4-of-6 shooting.
In the second half, a made basket from Clark Davidson just a minute and 15 seconds in had Principia on top, 34-33. Fontbonne responded going on a 10-0 run in just two minutes and 35 seconds to lead 43-34 on Domonic Doolin's jumper.
The Griffins expanded on it from there with Cody McKinney's 3-pointer giving Fontbonne a commanding 62-42 lead with 11:02 remaining.
Over the next six minutes, the Panthers chipped away at the lead and narrowed it down to 71-65 on Trevaughn Goodman's made jumper. The Griffins, though answered with a quick 5-0 run as Anthony Jones' jump shot gave Fontbonne its double-digit lead back, 76-65.
Despite its efforts, the Panthers were unable to mount a late comeback as the Griffins were able to go on for the 11-point win.

- Fontbonne ended with a 50.0 field goal percentage and outrebounded the Panthers, 38-34.
- The Griffins bench outscored the Panthers, 37-11.
- Principia finished shooting 49.2 percent from the field.
- Both teams shot the ball extremely well in the second half with Principia connecting on 61.3 percent of its attempts, while Fontbonne ended at 59.0 percent.
Principia Leaders
- Clark Davidson and Trevaughn Goodman tied with a game-high 21 points. Goodman also pulled down a game-high 10 boards.
- AJ Byrd was the final player in double-figures with 14 points.
Fontbonne Leaders
- Elijah Rice went 7-of-12 to finish with a team-high 17 points.
- Jared Woodcock shot 6-of-8 to conclude with 13 points, while Anthony Jones added 12 points.
- Caden Clark came away with a career-high five steals.
- Noah Coddington, Cody McKinney, Jalen Wadlington, and Gus Kleekamp, who returned to the lineup for the first time since Dec. 7th, each added eight points.
