Game Breakdown
It was all Fontbonne throughout the first half with a dominating 9-0 shot advantage. However, in the 37th minute, the Golden Eagles capitalized on its only scoring chance.
Keely Ashby had her initial shot saved by Mary Beers but Faith Rutherford was right there to follow burying her attempt to give Spalding a 1-0 lead at the break.
In the second half, the Griffins continued its offensive push and it finally paid off. On a corner kick, Kierstyn Weaver's cross went off of Katie Leeker on the far post and into the back of the net to tie the game in the 62nd minute.
Fontbonne had a 7-2 shot advantage the rest of the way but neither team scored the game-winner and it was off to overtime.
In the first OT, the best chance came from Spalding when Baeli Young was all alone in the box, however her shot was saved by Beers on the near post to keep it a 1-1 game.
In the second OT, the Griffins continued its offensive pressure but couldn't find the back of the net with the game ending in a 1-1 tie.

- Leeker's goal was her first on the year.
- Caroline Neal led with seven shots.
- Molly Kovarik and Kierstyn Weaver had five each.
- In net, Mary Beers made three saves.

The Griffins are right back on the pitch Tuesday when they'll host Westminster. Kick-off at 8 p.m., from Centene Stadium.
