DANVILLE, Ky. - The Bluffton University men's soccer team had to wait a day for its season opener due to massive rain in Kentucky and the extra time was not kind to the Beavers as Spalding cruised to a 9-0 victory on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017.

The Golden Eagles bolted out to a quick 3-0 lead before adding six tallies in the second period for the 9-0 shutout at Centre College.

Michael Whelpley (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) fired three shots for the Beavers. Spalding finished with 16 more attempts (23-7), including a 14-3 margin on frame.

The Beavers will regroup quickly as Bluffton takes on Georgetown at 2 p.m. on Sunday from Centre College.
