Women's basketball sinks Iowa Wesleyan

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team cruised past Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday by a 73-51 final score.

The Panthers never trailed as they took a 23-9 lead after the first quarter and improved their advantage to 44-22 at halftime.

Iowa Wesleyan kept pace in the second half, eventually losing by 22 which was the deficit at halftime.  Greenville added to their 22 point haltime lead to make the score 59-30 after three periods, and the Tigers outscored Greenville by seven in the final stanza.

Wesley Woodard and Meredith Crosier were at the top of the leaderboard in points as Woodard had 16 and Crosier netted 15 points.

Greenville shot identical 43.8 percent rates from the field and behind the three-point arc.

Kelly Lenz finished at the top of the chart with six rebounds, and Maria Reinhard added four assists.

The Panthers (15-4, 10-1) kept pace with Eureka in first place in the conference standings.  They host Fontbonne on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
