FULTON, Mo. - Westminster men's soccer fell to Principia 3-1 in the first match under the lights at Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium.

The Blue Jays fall to 4-11-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, still in the hunt for a playoff spot. 

"It was a great effort here tonight," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "I thought we created some really good chances and played well for large stretches. In the end, Principia's Kaleb Keller was the difference in the match. He was the Player of the Year last year for a reason and had a couple of game-changing moments."

Westminster struck first in the match on a goal from Philip Udinyiwe, assisted by Jacob Skaggs, in the 24th minute.

From there, it was all Principia as the Panthers scored three unanswered goals to take the win, including two goals less than a minute apart in the 27th and 28th minutes. 

The Blue Jays only tallied one shot in the first half, which was the lone goal, but created seven shots in the second half to attempt their comeback. 

Connor Bandre' played all 90 minutes in goal, making one save in the loss. 

"I'm very proud of the effort, attitude, and intensity we brought tonight," said Galla. "If we play like this all the time, we'll definitely win more than we'll lose."

The Blue Jays remain home Saturday to honor their seniors for Senior Day at 3 p.m. against Blackburn.
