Women's soccer scores late in 3-1 loss at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The women's soccer team battled through a 3-1 loss at Augustana on Saturday in GU's first match of the season.

The Panthers trailed 1-0 at halftime and gave up a pair of goals within 90 seconds during the second half.

Overall, the Panthers were outshot 20-2 and topped in corner kicks 6-0.

Greenville utilized two players as goalkeepers. Grace Gehner started and worked 65 minutes before an injury. She collected seven saves.

Carly Wagner relieved Gehner and had three saves in just under 25 minutes.

Kiera Coleman tallied Greenville's goal in the 70th minute with an assist from Taylor Howard.

The Panthers (0-1) play Rose-Hulman at 7 p.m. on Monday in Greenville.
