Baseball takes 17-1 win at Blackburn

CARLINVILLE, Ill. -- The baseball team rolled to a 17-1 seven inning win on Friday as they topped Blackburn with the mercy rule.

The Panthers came up with a four run opening inning and expanded the lead to 11-0 with seven runs in the top of the third.

Greenville added six runs, spread over the fourth through seventh innings.

Mike Hardin led the Panther offensive attack with three hits and four RBI in four at bats.  He scored two runs.

Adam Lamb, Travis Ralls, Klaiton Wolff, Max Gabriel, and Bryce Pearce all recorded two hits, and Gabriel knocked in two runs.

Jonah Moore gained his fifth win of the season with six innings of two hit baseball.  He struck out eight.

The Panthers (12-11, 4-3 SLIAC) host Blackburn in a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m.
