SLIAC Announces 2010 Baseball Award Winners
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the All-Conference Teams and award winners for the 2010 baseball season. Greenville College's Stefan Neece claimed Player of the Year honors after leading the Conference in Batting Average (.508), Slugging Percentage (1.238), On-Base Percentage (.708), Runs Batted In (39) and Home Runs (14). Greenville's Matt Leefers was named PItcher of the Year after posting a 1.05 ERA in Conference play this season, while Webster University's Cody Stevenson, an outfielder, was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year. Eureka College first year head coach, Craig Gerdes, was also named Coach of the Year after leading his squad to a 13-11 record in SLIAC play and their first ever appearance in the SLIAC Tournament.
