Andrew Bartman Returns to MacMurray as Head Baseball Coach

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Andrew Bartman, a 2006 MacMurray graduate, will begin as the Highlanders new head baseball coach effective immediately.

Bartman returns to MacMurray after coaching the 2009 and 2010 seasons as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Lincoln College in Lincoln, Ill. During his time at Lincoln, a two-year private school, his team had the highest conference finish in 15 years. His pitching staff also lowered its ERA significantly in the past two years. Bartman also served as a residence hall director at Lincoln.

"I am extremely grateful to the MacMurray family that has given me the opportunity to lead a program. The direction of the program is moving forward, and I am working to put the highest quality student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field next spring. I welcome all MacMurray alumni to contact me as a fellow Mac baseball alum and would enjoy re-connecting them with the program as soon as possible," said Bartman.

Prior to his time at Lincoln College, Bartman was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, Ill., from 2006 to 2009. During his time at both Lincoln College and Wabash College, Bartman was responsible for all aspects of recruiting student-athletes and handling all day-to-day organization of the pitching staffs.

"Andrew has the ideal background to be our head baseball coach," said MacMurray Athletic Director Dane Pavlovich. "He has a quality understanding of the recruiting process, and he has served as the pitching coach. As an alumnus of MacMurray, Andrew has a unique understanding of the tradition we have in baseball and the desire to return the program to the upper echelon of the conference."
