Principia's Paciorek Takes Charge of the Marauders in IMG Wood Bat League

ELSAH, ILL. -- You could assume that after a long and rewarding season coaching baseball here at Principia College, a summer vacation would be welcomed and embraced. You would be wrong, however. Because when baseball's your passion, you may as well find one of the most prestigious sports academies in the nation and coach one of their summer wood bat league teams.

And that's exactly what Principia College's head baseball coach, Pete Paciorek did. In June, Coach Paciorek packed up and traveled south to Bradenton, Florida – the home of IMG Academies. Taking charge of the Marauders, Coach Paciorek led his team of top-tier high school players through a grueling seven week schedule that included practices, strength and speed workouts, and 26 games.

Competing against five other talent-stacked teams in this league, Paciorek and the Marauders came out on top with a 23-3 record winning the regular season and playoff championships. "I love baseball and coaching," Paciorek says. "Every day that I am out on the field, I feel like I am on a mini-vacation. It doesn't matter if it is 95 degrees with 100% humidity, I soak it all up. IMG is an awesome training facility and I am definitely going to bring back what I learned to Principia."
