Webster's Mueller Receives Rawlings/ABCA All-American Honors

ST. LOUIS - Webster University starting pitcher David Mueller (SR, Westminster Christian Academy, MO) had the icing added to his outstanding season for the Webster University baseball team by being voted to the Rawlings/ABCA 2012 All-American Team. Mueller, the 2012 Central Region Pitcher of the Year, was named a Second Team All-American.

Mueller, who was named to the All-Central Region Team all three years at Webster, garnered his first All-American selection, and the first for the Gorloks since Will Savage was named to the First Team in 2010. Earlier this spring, Mueller was named the SLIAC 2012 Pitcher of the Year and was a First Team All-Conference selection.

In his three seasons as a Gorlok, Mueller made his mark all over the Webster baseball record books. Some of his records include new career highs for wins (22), strikeouts (238), and innings pitched (247), and the single season mark for strikeouts (111). Mueller also wound up third in career earned run average (2.52) and sixth in win percentage (22-7, .759).

Mueller accepted the award at a pre-World Series banquet, held in Appleton, WI, on May 24.
