Gorloks' Kojs & Stoulp Named to NCAA All-Tournament Team

ST. LOUIS - Kevin Kojs (SO, Lincoln Way Central HS, IL) and Taylor Stoulp (SO, St. Mary's HS, MO) were named to the 2012 NCAA DIII Baseball All-Tournament Team. The Webster baseball 'keystone' combination at shortstop (Stoulp) and second base (Kojs), were near the top in several hitting categories for the World Series and NCAA Championship overall. Kojs and Stoulp gave Webster two representatives on the 11-member team.

Kojs had nine straight hits on his way to a nine for 12 (.750) Series, with three RBIs and a run scored. The nine consecutive hits broke an NCAA III World Series record of seven straight that had stood since 2001. In the baseball tournament overall, counting the Regional, Kojs was 14-25 for a .560 average. His average was the 10th highest and he also had the 10th highest on-base percentage (.621).

Stoulp was 10-15 (.667) in the Series, with five RBIs, three runs scored, two doubles, and a triple. Named the Most Valuable Player for the Millington Regional, Stoulp put up pinball numbers overall in the baseball tournament. He was second in hits with 20, going 20-33 for a .606 batting average, the fourth highest in the Tournament. Stoulp was first in hits-per-game played (2.86), fourth in total bases (23), and sixth in on-base percentage (.629).

Together, Kojs and Stoulp were an astounding 34-58 (.586) in the Regional and World Series combined.
