Webster to Travel South for NCAA Regional; Face Washington University-St. Louis in First Round

ST. LOUIS - The Webster University baseball team has been assigned to the NCAA III Regional at Millington, Tenn., hosted by Rhodes College.  The Gorloks open play against a familiar opponent...Washington University on Wednesday, May 16.  Millington is a suburb of Memphis, about 15 miles north of the city.  This is the seventh time in eight years that Webster has made the tournament.

Webster (31-12) and Washington University (28-12) met twice this season and split, with Washington U winning at home on March 21, 12-7, and Webster winning, 12-7 as well, at GCS Ball Park on April 17.  The Gorloks were seeded fifth out of six teams in the regional.  Washington U., the #1 ranked team in the NCAA III Central Region, is seeded second and Birmingham-Southern (AL), who is the #1 ranked team in the NCAA III South Region, holds the number one seed.

The regional is played in a double elimination format.

The schedule for the first two days of the regional is listed below.  The schedule for the remainder of the regional is determined by how many teams are still 'alive' after play is completed on day two.
